Stewardship 2023
Dearest Grace Family,
We as Vestry members and Wardens, want to thank you for your unending financial support and the love you have bestowed on Grace Church Millbrook. The time, talent, and treasures you have given are exceptionally important and appreciated. You have participated in, the spring rummage sale, the golf outing, the Gala dinner, the movie night, the coat sale, the Fall festival, and other events in which you support Grace Church. Have you seen the new ramp into the Parish Hall, did you walk into the Parish Hall door entrance without that last step tripping you at the entrance? Did you notice that the painters have meticulously finished painting all the buildings on the Grace Church campus? The damaged cedar shakes replaced with new ones. Did you see our beautiful red entrance doors into the Church are bright and shining again? All these projects cost enormous amounts of money. Funding sources of these projects were copious, received through grants and private donations. Our Mission at Grace Church, we worship God, learn from Christ, love one another and work together to transform lives and participate in God’s mission of reconciliation and new creation. Our deep roots, as Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has said, "Jesus did not start an institution; he started a movement." At Grace Church Millbrook, we think of our work as part of that movement. We trace our roots to Jesus, St Peter, St Paul and the other apostles, the early creedal church, the Roman Catholic branch, the Church of England (catholic and reformed), and the American Revolution. Our parish goes back to 1867, before Millbrook was established, and our beautiful sanctuary was built in 1901. Our people come from here, there, and everywhere. We welcome you, whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey toward God and truth. Our doors are open, our minds too. As St. Paul encouraged, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2). At Grace Church, we welcome all who come through our doors. We affirm the equality of all people and relationships, we are committed to protecting the rights of immigrants, and we denounce racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, islamophobia, and other forms of hate. We also welcome members of other faiths or those who are seeking for spiritual meaning on their own and believe there is much to be learned from interfaith dialogue. We seek to build loving community both at our parish and in the broader world. In The Book of Common Prayer, the mission of the Church is "to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ." While it is the work of God to reconcile, restore and re-create, the Church is a partner in that mission. We are the "body of Christ", his hands at work in the world right now. Here at Grace Church Millbrook, we are doing our best to worship God, follow Jesus, grow in love, and serve the world. Join us. It is excellent work. At this time, we are in more need of your financial support to keep these beautiful red doors open for a long time to come. Most parishioners wonder what the appropriate level of support for the parish is – seeking a suggested dollar amount. But an honest answer requires more thought because the best answer is that our giving to our parish has a deep influence in how we as people of faith experience life from day to day. Our giving should define our priorities, help the less fortunate, support the mission of Christ and his Church, and strengthen our relationship with God, as we make a return to the Lord for all the good that he has done for us. Please take a week or two of your time to bring this crucial decision to the Lord in prayer. After you have made your decision, you can then submit your pledge either by clicking on the Web pledge form button at our website and submit your Pledge online or by using the hand or Mail-in Pledge Form. The printed forms, feel free to send it through the US Postal Service, placed in the collection basket, or dropped off at the office. Respectfully Your Wardens, Ron Mustello and Evelyn Garzetta |

Pray for the people of Ukraine, Pray for the children of the world
God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow,
that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment, and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children,
at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
