Blessing of our Sacred Earth

Annual Blessing of our Sacred Earth

Every May, Grace Church and Innisfree Gardens host a interfaith service with local leaders from the Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Indigenous, and Buddhist communities. This service takes participants to different "stations" around Innisfree where faith leaders offer prayers from their own religious tradition.

This year’s annual Interfaith Celebration of God’s Creation, Blessing Our Sacred Earth, took place on May 18 at the lovely Innisfree Garden in Millbrook.  We walked around the garden stopping at different stations to read from a wide variety of sacred and secular traditions. There was singing and chanting and contemplative listening to the sounds of water wind and birdsong as the group made its way to the final spot, gathering around a large flat rock near a majestic oak looking over the lake of Innisfree. The service concluded with a blessing of seeds. To view videos from the event visit
