Speaker Series: New Developments in Medical Directives: Community Initiatives and Five Wishes
Daniel Aronzon, M.D. will speak from his experience as President of Vassar Brothers Medical Center on recent developments that promote the use of medical directives. He will address how these directives increasingly look beyond medical procedures to quality of life considerations. The Five Wishes, living will booklet, will be available free of charge to those attending.
Aronzon is well-known in the Hudson Valley as a leading pediatrician and recently retired President and CEO of Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is a member of The American College of Physician Executives. He has been actively involved in the community as a member of the Poughkeepsie Rotary Club, past chair and current board member of the United Way of Dutchess County, and he chairs the Medical Advisory Board of the Vassar College Haiti Project. On a national level, he has served on the Pediatric Advisory Council for the Anne E. Dyson Initiative, a collaborative venture between the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Dyson Foundation. In addition to his work in Haiti, he has participated in numerous medical missions to Colombia with Heal the Children.
