Blessing Our Sacred Places: An Interfaith Celebration
Join us at 10:30am on Sunday, May 1st, for Blessing Our Sacred Places (a continuation of last year’s Blessing of the Fields) at Innisfree Garden. This interfaith celebration of God’s creation will include music, readings, and a blessing of fields and seeds.
Professor Brigitte Kahl from the Union Theological Seminary, will be a featured speaker and make an appearance on April 30 at 1:30pm at the Merritt Bookstore. Participating clergy include leaders of Jewish, Islamic, First Nation, and Episcopal faith/spiritual traditions. People are welcome to bring packets of seeds to be blessed, picnic at the tables overlooking the garden, and purchase lunch from the Farmers & Chefs Hudson Valley Food Truck.
Admission is free and donations are accepted in support of the Rural and Migrant Ministry’s annual summer camp. The event is part of the Food/Farm/Faith (F/F/F) Initiative, and sponsored by Grace Church, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and Innisfree Garden.
All members of the community are welcome.
